A shared history

A shared past leaves its mark.

Before TVUP, we all belonged to the same tuna: Tuna Académica da Universidade Portucalense. From that friendship, and the wish to keep meeting, came the idea of a veteran tuna.

In November 2008, the idea took shape. We met to play again, reconnect with our university days and carry on a story that had begun long before.

Today we are lawyers, teachers, businesspeople, bankers and professionals in many fields. We still share our origins, our friendships and our love of the tuna.

The story of our tuna began before TVUP did. Eighteen years are not eighteen days.

TVUP grew from the wish of former members of the Tuna Académica da Universidade Portucalense to meet regularly again. Our lives have taken different paths, but music and friendship still bring us together.

We are a non-profit cultural association. We travel to gatherings in Portugal and abroad, and organise our own, welcoming others who share our love of the tuna.
